I grew up in Utica, NY where my dad was a general dentist in a one-doctor office. My dad truly enjoyed his profession. As a kid, I spent a lot of time in his office. I was amazed by the pleasant environment — I never knew that a dental office could be anything but a hospitable place.
Looking forward to my own professional career, I wanted to build onto my dad’s experience. Joining a group was the key. Group practice at Timberlane affords me an unprecedented level of collaboration. Having a team of specialists all under one roof dramatically improves our communication and efficiency. Our patients and dentists appreciate consultations where multiple specialists are in the room at the same time. This is a tremendous convenience that ultimately leads to great outcomes and happy patients. After all, we are in the smile business!
Like my dad, I enjoy going to work every day. I like talking to my patients and seeing how I can help. Everyone has a unique story and set of challenges. We work toward providing a personalized, comfortable treatment experience for each patient. My team and I particularly enjoy helping patients manage their dental anxiety. Many of our patients have avoided dental care for years due to fear. It is gratifying when we are able to help these patients work through their anxiety and restore their dental health.
Education and Continuing Education
I received a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Hobart College in Geneva, NY in 1989; graduated from S.U.N.Y. Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 1994; and completed a general practice residency at Millard Fillmore Hospital in 1995.
A lifetime of learning is the key to keeping up to date with dental technology, and continuing education is my passion. I am fascinated by the interface of technology and dentistry. To stay current, a dentist should be continuously exploring new treatment strategies and technologies. At Timberlane, we integrate the best of these into our practice annually so patients can be sure they are being treated with state of the art techniques and materials.

Outside the Office
I have enjoyed living in Vermont for more than 20 years. I currently live in Charlotte with my wife Kristin, daughter Emma, and sons Jerry and William. Running is my thing; I run outside all four seasons. My family likes to keep busy outdoors, too. We balance our time between the mountains and the lake with a passion for skiing and hiking. Moreover, I enjoy watching my kids play sports in and around New England.
